One Year flow (mainly for 4-year students)

Contents of training for 4-year students

Experiment D

  • Processor Design exercise:
Understand the fundamentals of LSI design techniques using hardware description languages and logic synthesis tools.
  • Programming:
Every other week, students will create programs on various themes and explain the programs they have created.
  • Side-channel analysis exercise:
This course provides an exercise in side-channel analysis, which estimates the secret key from the power consumption of a cryptographic circuit through a statistical process.

Training A

  • Design of embedded systems using FPGA (programmable hardware):
First, students will create a simple processor and present the results (interim presentation). After that, each student designs a system on a theme of his/her choice and presents the result (final presentation). In the past, some have created games, FFT operators, and synthesizers.
  • English reading together:
We will read together a book on side-channel attacks.

Research Laboratory Scenery

Student Living Room

A PC, a display, and a personal desk are provided, and research is mainly conducted here.

Tearoom

In addition to breaks between research, seminars and progress reports are held.

Laboratory/Server Room

Experiments using FPGAs and microcontrollers are conducted here. Measurement of electromagnetic waves is also performed.

Conference room

Conferences are held with other universities and companies using monitors.
